How to Love Like Jesus – A New Way to Love
We’re closing out our series on love by learning how to love like Jesus. He brought a new way to love onto the scene, and knowing Jesus changes everything about the way we’re loved and the way we love.

We’ve been working our way through a Bible study on love, and today we’re getting into the heart of the whole series as we finally
We’ve started a new series on Biblical love called A New Kind of Love. We’re studying Scripture together to learn about this great mystery called
L-O-V-E. Four letters. And yet, all wrapped up in those four little letters is a whole world of ideas. There are misconceptions, lies, and half-truths;
Psalms 139 is one of my favorite chapters in the whole Bible. It paints a beautiful picture of God’s tender, intimate love and care for each of us! When we stop to consider who God is; how very great He is, it’s so humbling to then realize that He takes the time to know each of us so well. Who am I that He would consider me? Who am I that He would care about me? My life is but a breath and yet He counts me worthy of His great love! I am so thankful!
The question, does God love me no matter what, is one I’ve wrestled with for most of my life. If you too battle the lie that tells you you’re unlovable, I pray this story will help you to truly know and believe that God loves you personally and deeply and without condition!
Today we want to let a few profound truths about our identity sink down like roots that keep us secure in the knowledge that in Christ, I am strong, SO deeply loved, and complete. Oh you guys, I find myself longing that we could all truly understand these truths, just as Paul did as he wrote our passage for today. I fall to my knees and pray along with him that they would sink deep into our hearts and change us forever!
A good place to start when we’re looking to re-write our identity is with an understanding of the nature of our existence. We need to know whether we’re just some cosmic accident, or the result of an intentional plan because the answer to that question will define our purpose.
All praise to God who tells us we are not, in fact, some fluke of nature. We are His own special creation: Chosen by Him before the beginning of time, purchased out of our state of slavery to sin by His very own blood, and adopted into His family forever. Let’s think about the ramifications of those three simple realities.
For the past four weeks we’ve been studying the Bible to learn some of what the Infinite God has revealed to us about Himself. We discussed His identity as the Triune God, and unpacked the unique characteristics of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Today, we’ll wrap up this series with a look at His infinite qualities, and how we should respond.
We are redeemed! Am I right? We have so much to celebrate in our home this Easter season! Sure, the past few years have been
I have felt such a heavy burden for the church (the body of Christ) in recent months! I’ve seen such beauty displayed among its members at times that I feel as if I’ve gotten a glimpse of heaven. Yet, I’ve also seen so much damage being done. I’ve seen ministries torn down, precious people wounded, and I’ve felt the heart of my Savior break over what should never be! The Spirit has led me again and again to John 17, whispering to my soul, “This is my deepest desire – the greatest longing of my heart!” I feel compelled to appeal once more to the small audience I have and ask us all to revisit this passage together, asking God to lead us to the cry of His heart. Asking Him to make us one. So, let’s look together at John 17 – the passage in which Jesus prays for His precious church.
Do you ever come across a song that seems to have been written just for you? Or, do you ever turn the radio on and feel like God orchestrated the song that was playing right at that moment so that He could speak directly to you? Those are the moments when God feels so near, so personal, aren’t they? This happened most recently for me with Skillet’s song, Stars from their latest album, Unleashed. The very first time I heard it I was right in the thick of those dark months I wrote about here where I was questioning God’s love for me. It was beautiful, and the words made me weep!
