Finding My Identity in Christ

Part of our brokenness as humans is that we allow ourselves to be defined by damaged, sinful people, or look to sources from this fallen world to find our identity. But when we learn, not only to know our Creator, but to allow Him to define us, everything changes! When we find our identity in Christ, we find that God created us in His own image, that He chose us as His own, adopted us into His family, and intentionally designed us for a unique purpose. We become important members of the body of Christ, and He has set us apart to be holy and to carry His light into the world.

For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people.  1 Peter 2:9-10
