- Hope For Today
August 25 - Psalms 73:24-26
You guide me with Your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but You? I desire You more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever!
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank-you for who You are! Thank-you for Your personal care for me. When I don't know where to go, or which path to take, I can always count on You to guide me. When I need wisdom, Your counsel is always good. It is always right. It is always true. Your plans promise me a future and a hope, and I am so thankful for the glorious destiny that awaits me in Your Holy Presence! There is no other god but You! You are the One who created heaven and earth. The One who set in motion time and space. You are the only God who holds all things together and tells the kingdoms of the earth when they can rise and when they can fall. Your authority is absolute. And yet, You made a way for me to have a relationship with You. Despite my sin. Even though it cost You everything. What other god would do that for me? Lord, I want to know You. I want to follow You. I want to be like You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can be one with You. I want this more than I want anything else, even if too often my life doesn't show it. Lord, it really is the desire of my heart. Help my unbelief. This life hurts. With each passing day my body dies a little more, and the trials of this world weigh down my spirit, growing my longing for heaven. But I know who I am in You. I know what it means to belong to You. To be Your dearly loved daughter. So, I will face everything this life may throw at me with the confidence that comes from knowing You'll never leave me or forsake me. God, I know that You are mine forever, and I am Yours. Thank-you. In Jesus's Name, amen.
