- Hope For Today
June 5 - Isaiah 41:9-10
I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, "You are my servant." For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my righteous right hand.
Do you sometimes feel like no one wants you? Do you look around at your circumstances and allow yourself to become overwhelmed? I think there are days, no matter how irrational it may be, when we all feel like that. But God chose us! And He will not throw us away. Not ever! He has called us from the ends of the earth, just as He did with the people of Israel after their long captivity. And now our lives here on earth are forfeit to His service, just as our eternities are secure with Him forever in the place He is preparing for us! As we go forward today, let's ask ourselves, What is causing me to fear? What has me discouraged? What is leading me to feel weak or defeated? -As we evaluate our fears, let's say out loud, "I will not fear (fill in the blank) because the God of Heaven's armies is with me! What can possibly be done to me without His permission? Nothing! And if God allows it, He will use it for my good! So I will not fear!" -As we recount our discouragement, declare again, " I will not allow (fill in the blank) to bring me down or defeat me. Not when my God is Jehovah. Not when the High King of Heaven chose me and walks with me and sustains me!" -As we acknowledge our weaknesses and failures, let's speak one more time, "I may be weak on my own, I may have failed in the past, but now my strength comes from the Lord! He will lift me up with His righteous right hand and He will help me. So I can do anything He has called me to do. I will not be discouraged. My hope comes from the Lord!" Let's face today and all our tomorrows with confidence my friends, for God has chosen us, He is with us and He will help us! He is our God, and we are His dearly loved children!
