Hope For Today
Daily Encouragement for a Healing Heart from the Word of God
Deep pain and brokenness have a way of making Bible study difficult. To help bridge the gap and re-ignite our hunger for the Word of God, we’ve put together a daily devotional designed to help us all lean into God as we heal. May we seek Him daily!
Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Psalms 143:8 (NIV)
- Hope For Today
February 28 - John 14:1-4 & 6
Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. There is more than enough room in My Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going... I AM the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.
Have you been struggling with a troubled heart? Isn't it so easy to allow the sorrows and the trials of life to trouble us deep down in the depths of our souls? To trudge through each day with the weight of it all on our shoulders, feeling like we will have to carry it alone forever? Does it feel trite, or overly simplified to just say, "trust God"? My friends, if we could somehow allow the reality of Heaven to penetrate our hearts, I really believe it would be a game-changer! I know we're hurting, but Jesus was beaten and died in our place! I know we're struggling, but Jesus took the full weight of our sins upon Himself! I know our hearts are troubled, friends, BUT JESUS!!!! Jesus made us an unimaginable promise here. Not only did He make a way so that we could be forgiven, but He has gone to prepare an eternal place for us so that we can be with Him forever, and He has promised to come back and get us! Do we trust Him? Do we trust that there is more than enough room in the Father's home? Do we trust that Jesus will come back and take us to that eternal place? Do we trust that He has shown us the way – that HE IS the way? Do we trust the Truth of His Word? Do we trust that we have been given eternal life through Him? Have we taken the way that was provided through Christ, and come to the Father? If we can answer yes to each of those questions, then surly we can let go of whatever it is that troubles our hearts and trust Him!
Come back tomorrow for a new passage, a new verse image, and a new encouragement here at Hope for Today.
