This Day in History: 0000-11-25

November 25 – Philippians 2:14-18

Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the Word of Life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy. Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy.

This passage serves as a pretty simple blueprint for the lives of God’s people. Let’s examine ourselves today and ask Him to align us with His will. May we shine brightly in this dark world and make Him proud!

“Lord, silence our grumblings. Give us strength, patience, and endurance as we set about the tasks of each day. Help us to do our work as if we’re doing it for You and You alone. Help us to view the people in our lives through Your eyes and cultivate in us a servant’s heart – just like Your Precious Son. Help us to do our work in a way that keeps us above the reproach of those who seek to tear us down. Keep our hearts and minds pure and align our thoughts with the Truth of Your Word. Give us the strength to live in obedience. Lord, make us shining lights for You in this dark and terrible world. When others see us, may there be no trace of the sinners we are, but only You and Your perfect love shining through. Finally, God, give us the kind of faith that is so unshakable that we would each be ready and willing to give our lives for the cause of Christ.

Lord, we thank You and praise You for awesome privilege to serve You. We do not take for granted the joy of belonging to You! Thank-you for making us Your own. May we live a life that is worthy. Amen.”
