November 6 – 2 Samuel 7:18,20-22

Who am I, oh Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? What more can I say to You? You know what Your servant is really like, Sovereign Lord. Because of Your promise and according to Your will, you have done all these great things and have made them known to Your servant. How great You are, oh Sovereign Lord! There is no one like You. We have never even heard of another God like you!

Have we quieted our hearts recently and just praised God for choosing us? Just as David sat before the Lord in humility, wondering at His mighty plan, let’s come before Him in awe right now. Let’s use this verse to lead us in a prayer of humble gratitude.

“Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you Lord, for choosing me. Who am I, oh Sovereign God, that from all the people in the world You would choose me to be among those You named as Your very own? I am a nobody. Unknown, unloved, worthless! You have seen my heart, God, and You know its blackness. And still, despite all that, you chose me.

You had no reason other than, simply that You wanted to. Because You love me. I am overwhelmed at the thought!

Though I am nobody, you made me somebody. Though I am unknown, You have made me known. Though I am unloved, oh God, You have loved me with a deep, abiding, and everlasting love! Though I am worthless, You have made me Your own special treasure.

Why would You do it? Though I don’t understand Your reasons, I am so very grateful! Thank-you!

You are the One True God, and I am in awe of You. What other god has made himself known to his people as You have made Yourself known to me? Thank-you for Your Word, and for Your Spirit, to guide me daily into all truth! Your blessings are truly never-ending! There is no other like You God! Thank-you for making me yours! I love you Lord, in Jesus’s Name, amen!”
