September 16 – Isaiah 40: 28-31
Have you never heard? Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding.
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
Can I get an “amen!”? Friends, I have never experienced the truth of this passage as much as in this past year! The battles I’ve faced have left me completely powerless to secure the outcome I wanted. I’ve been broken, and weak, and completely worn out. Yet I can say with a resounding, AMEN! that He does indeed give power to the weak and strength to the powerless! Are you facing a season that you have no idea how you’re going to get through? Is there a mountain in front of you whose heights seem impossible to scale? Are you tired, worn out, exhausted? Do you feel too weak, or too powerless to go on let alone hope for victory?
My friends, have you not heard? Have you never truly understood that our God is THE Everlasting God? He Created everything there is! He created the heavens and the earth. He created us! We may be tired. We may be worn out. We may be downright exhausted, but our God is not! He’s God, dear sisters and he doesn’t ever, EVER grow weak or weary. Even when the task before us is so overwhelming that it would defeat the stubborn resolve and seemingly endless energy of a child; even when the race is so long and drawn out that the strongest young men would faint in exhaustion, our God will not fail. We need only turn to Him in trust, and He will be faithful. Every. Single. Time. to renew our strength and give us whatever it is we need to persevere. In His power, we will find ourselves rising to heights we never imagined. We won’t need to scale that mountain before us, because in Him we’ll soar right over it! We are the dearly loved daughters of the Everlasting God! This race is already won! The victory is ours already! So let’s trust Him and receive the strength to run this race and never grow weary; to walk through life and never faint. Can I get an AMEN!?!?
