September 11 – 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.  So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Are you feeling unseen, or unappreciated today?  Do you feel like your efforts are often in vain?  You’re not alone.  We all fall victim to that kind of thinking sometimes.  Thank God for His Word!

Friend, through the salvation of Jesus Christ you have been given victory over sin and death.  Let’s fix our gaze on that truth.  Let’s allow that eternal triumph to refocus our temporal efforts.  It is not for the praise and recognition of man that we do what we do! No, thanks to the work of the Lord on the cross, everything we do is for Him.

Let’s dig our heels deep down into the assurance of our salvation today.  Let’s plant our feet firmly upon the foundation of the Word.  Let’s anchor our framework into the Cornerstone so that we will be strong and immovable.  Let’s remember who it is that we serve.  Everything we do, everything we say, all of our efforts should be done for Him alone.

Remember that the Bible says, “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it ALL for the glory of God.”  So let’s work enthusiastically for Him.  We are His, and nothing we do for Him is ever in vain!  He sees you.  He cherishes you.  He appreciates everything you do with a pure heart for His glory! It is NEVER useless, because to our Lord, we are never useless!
