June 25 – 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. 

What an unmatched privilege it is to be a child of the Lord God Almighty! He has prepared things for us so rich and grand that we can’t even begin to imagine it. But for now, He has given us a couple of gifts more precious than anything else this world has to offer. These treasures won’t keep trouble away or prevent heartache from touching our lives. But they do offer to us the power and peace to thrive in spite of those things. These gifts are the Bible – God’s own Word, and the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of God Himself!  

Our God is complex! Far above anything we can understand. Yet, He has made Himself known to us. When we surrender ourselves to Him, and make Him Lord of our lives, He’ll give us eyes to see and ears to hear. He’ll give us hearts that understand! He’ll reveal secrets to us that no one else can know – because He knows everything! 

Are you struggling with a problem that you just don’t know how to handle? Has the truth in a certain matter eluded you until now? Friend, God already knows exactly what the truth is. Not just right now, but a week from now, a month, or a year from now. He knows how the truth will unfold for all of eternity! So why are we trying to figure it out for ourselves? We have His Spirit living in us. He has been gifted to us, and He knows and understands ALL THINGS!  

Let’s turn to Him. Let’s ask Him to reveal truth to us. He always does.  

Meanwhile, let’s immerse ourselves in the Word of God – knowing it is alive and active and sharp. The words of the Bible were given to dozens of men throughout time by God Himself. And when He did that – when He inspired the Scriptures, He used the Holy Spirit to do it. The Holy Spirit inspired it, and the Holy Spirit interprets it. He gives us the power to rightly divide it just the same as He gave the authors the power to write it. So we can wholly trust its message, for it is from the Lord God Almighty Himself. 

Friends, we are His own precious children, and the privilege we have to know Him and thus to know and understand truth is unreal. May we never, ever take it for granted or doubt its power!
