June 14 – Hebrews 10:19-22

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.  By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him.  For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Are we making it a regular practice to go right into the presence of God, boldly entering heaven’s Most Holy Place?  If not, why? If we had each won a million dollars today, would we spend the rest of our lives refusing to ever spend and enjoy it? I doubt it! I feel confident every one of us would be eager to enjoy the comfort and privilege that would come as a result of such wealth.  Yet that’s exactly what we do with the free gift of salvation we’ve been given through the shed blood of Jesus. We put it high on a shelf in a closet and save it for another day, as if its riches might run dry.  Do we really think that’s why Christ died?  So that we could stay exactly the same?

Surely not! When He died on the cross for our sins, Jesus opened the way for us to be able to experience so many treasures!  The veil that separated us from the Father was torn in two.  The Most Holy Place was opened.  Where once, only the High Priest could enter into the presence of God, (And even then, only to atone for the sins of Israel.) it is now open to each and every believer.  Completely open. We can go in any time, and for any reason! He invites us to come!  He wants us to understand that whatever keeps us out, it has been washed clean.  Our conscience is clear.

So let’s trust Him fully today.  Let’s boldly enter His presence with sincere hearts. Let’s act like the children of the King of Kings we are!  His dearly loved daughters and sons!  And let’s enjoy a close, intimate relationship with our Heavenly Daddy!
