April 5 – Isaiah 55:3-5

Come to Me with your ears wide open.  Listen,  and you will find life.  I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.  See how I used him to display my power among the peoples.  I made him a leader among the nations. You also will command nations you do not know, and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey, because I, the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.

Are you living your calling today?  I fear that far too many of us have given little thought to that question.  What has God called us to?  The Bible tells us that long ago He prepared good things for us to do for Him here in this world. (Ephesians 2:10)  Are we doing them?  Let’s come to God today with our ears wide open!  Let’s listen and find life.  Let’s spend some time in prayer and ask Him to reveal to us the path He wants us to take.  Let’s ask Him to guide us into the ministry He has already designed for us.  Because don’t we all want to live a life that serves Him?  I believe that we do.

May He make us like David and use us to display His power to all the peoples of the world.  For some of us that will be the people who are already right in front of us.  For some of us that will be the people somewhere else in the world.  Will we be willing to go if that’s what He’s called us to?  Will we be willing to stay, if that’s what He has called us to, but still serve Him with the fervor of one who has been called to go?  May we all have the pleasure of seeing people unknown to us come running to obey because of what God does through us!  He is the Lord our God.  He is the Holy One of Israel and He has made us each a glorious representation here on earth of who He is.  May we each live up to that calling!  May we each find the purpose He has designed just for us!
