March 21 – Jeremiah 17:11-14

Like a partridge that hatches eggs she has not laid, so are those who get their wealth by unjust means. At midlife they will lose their riches; in the end, they will become poor old fools. But we worship at your throne – eternal, high, and glorious! Oh Lord, the hope of Israel, all who turn away from you will be disgraced. They will be buried in the dust of the earth, for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water. Oh Lord, if You heal me, I will be truly healed; if You save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for You alone!

Do you ever get tired of all the voices out there telling us the answers to anything that ales us? “Five foods that will melt away the pounds;” “20 Things you can do from home to make big money fast;” “How to Have a Perfect Marriage;” and a million others.  Y’all there is only one voice that matters.  Only one source of wisdom that brings true healing.  It is the voice of the Lord our God revealed to us through the Bible. And let’s be honest, very rarely does conventional wisdom line up with Scripture! That get rich quick scheme or the love advise is hardly ever biblical and sound.

I must confess that I have been struggling the past few days.  I’ve been listening to worldly wisdom and allowing it to bring me down.  Allowing it to rob me of hope for our future and cause me to focus on things that just don’t matter.  I’ve allowed fear to creep in and take my focus off the mighty work of God. It ends right now! I want to put my trust in God alone and worship at His throne – eternal, high, and glorious!

Let’s make a commitment together to never look for wealth through unjust means or turn away from the Lord our God and abandon the wisdom and healing that comes from His fountain of living water!  We don’t want to become poor old fools.  We don’t want to be disgraced.  Let’s join together and worship with steadfast hearts at the eternal, high, and glorious throne of our Lord, the hope of Israel.  Let’s dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to His Word, the Fountain of Living Water!  Let’s ask for His healing, for His salvation. For we are His children and if He heals us we will be truly healed; if He saves us we will be truly saved!  May our trust be in Him alone.  May our praises resound for only Him!
