February 27 – Psalms 34:15-18

The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; His ears are open to their cries for help.
But the Lord turns His face against those who do evil; He will erase their memory from the earth.
The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

I once had a counselor tell me I was too broken to interpret the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life, and that until I got healthy, I needed him to tell me what I should do rather than asking God. But friends, that was a lie. The Bible is clear. The Lord is NEAR to the brokenhearted. He does not abandon them to find help apart from Him.

Are you brokenhearted and crushed today? Do you need to feel the presence of God before you’re crushed beneath the weight of it all? Cling to this promise from Psalm 34 friend! Cling to it with all that you are.

Lord Jesus, be near!

Don’t despair, precious child of God. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their cries for help. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Stick to the path that leads to everlasting life. Keep following God. Keep pursuing His righteousness. Keep calling out to Him. He IS near. He IS listening. Help IS on the way.

Never let anyone turn your heart from following Him, and Him alone!
