This Day in History: 0000-02-21

February 21

Psalms 19:1-6 – The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known.
They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

Have you ever stood beneath the sky, admiring its beauty and felt that confidence, deep within your soul, that God is exactly who He claims to be?  The inspiring hope in the first gleams of a sunrise, and the breathtaking beauty of a sunset; the wonder of the storm clouds, the power of the lightning bolts, and the peace of the cloudless blue skies; the majesty of the stars as they dance across the heavens – the proclamations of the glory of God displayed in the sky are endless!

I often find myself in awe of the handiwork of the Lord, wondering how there could possibly be even greater beauty to come.  But this world is fallen!  All that we see is broken, and yet even in that state, all creation cries out in silent praise of her Creator.  So much so, that across the world, man is without excuse.  God has made Himself known to us! Let’s praise Him together today dear sisters.  What a privilege it is to know Him and to be known by Him!  May the rising and setting of the sun each passing day remind us that we are His!
