February 8 – 2 Timothy 1:9-10

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time – to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. And now He has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior.  He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.

You were a part of God’s plan from before the beginning of time! Each of us, every single one of His dearly loved daughters and sons were created on purpose and for a purpose!  Let’s take a minute and try to put that into perspective just a bit.  An infinite God, who had no beginning and will have no end, had each of us in mind long before He ever spoke all that we know and understand into existence. Before even one of the more than 100 million stars in any one of the more than 10 trillion galaxies was spoken into place God had a plan for you.  Before our own “small” solar system was set in motion with our sun and our planets and our moons all working together in exact synchronicity to achieve the perfect conditions for us to have life, God knew your name.  Before He carved the mountains and the canyons or crafted the trees and the flowers and the grasses and weaved them together with the sky and the seas into a breathtakingly beautiful world, He knew every detail of every day of your life. He had already planned each fiber of your being to be knit together into His wonderful work.  Before He saturated the earth with every variety of life from the tiniest single celled organism to the great leviathan, He knew what would quicken the beat of your heart, what would well a tear in your eye, and what would bubble up laughter from within your soul.  Dear sisters, before He spliced together the DNA of the very first human beings, He. Knew. YOU!

Before any of it, He set into motion a plan to save us and He called us to Himself to show us His grace through Jesus Christ.  He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life.  Not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time.  He did it because of His great love.  He did it so that through the Good News of the Gospel, His own would live a holy life here on earth and then would spend all the rest of eternity with Him in Heaven.  Praise Him today my friend, for YOU. ARE. LOVED!
